1^st July: Having a great time. We leave today for Beaulieu-sur-Mer near Nice for 4 nights - hope to see Eze, Villa Ephruzzi (the Rothschild mansion and gardens) etc. Missed Les Beaux because of a taxi strike! Bugger! Wifi has been hit and miss . Hope you are all great and keeping warm while we swelter in late 30s so lots of pool time.

8^th July: After sitting on train for 2+ hours because of problem on previous train. Lovely little hotel - close to St Marks square. Can't wait to go exploring.

Am I really in Venice?? Yes I am!! Wahoo!! Boy - is it hot though. 36 out there now. Did a very taxing bike ride yesterday - turned into quite an adventure! Too hot to drink much wine but iced coffees and G&Ts go down a treat.

18^th July: Breathtaking train ride from Lake Como to Zurich through the Alps then down through Geneva to Annecy. European trains mostly super comfortable and on time. State of the art Staziones at Zurich and Geneva makes life easier for these two travellers. Concert Tickets in hand we took scenic bus trip up to St- Julien-en Genevoise and found our way to the stadium in 40 deg heat but well worth the effort. Cold beers and fajitas and even got comfy seats. MK and his band - spectacular!! Taxi back down to Annecy at midnight - two very tired and happy 'girls'.
