Bike About Tours in Paris
From Gillian
'We booked a 'Bike About' tour of Paris on-line before we left NZ and luckily had a great day for it. The tour begins at Notre Dame and the tour leader was a very knowledgeable English graduate. We were organised into small groups of about 10 riders and he led us through the back streets of Paris pointing out interesting and/or historical sights. Their goal is to help English speaking tourists experience the 'real' Paris. Our tour lasted about 3 hours and we had such a good time that we also booked for Bike About Versailles. That took us to the town of Versailles by train and after picking up bikes, we biked into the town and bought our own lunches from the local market. We then biked around the edge of the parkland surrounding the palace and had lunch beside the canal. We later biked up to the palace and joined the throngs of visitors to view the interior splendour of Versailles.
The organisation of each tour was terrific and we really enjoyed our biking experieince. See www.bikeabouttours.com for more information.
