1. French Quiz Evening: Somerset Cottage
If you don’t already have plans for Bastille Day, this is for you.
Date: Monday July 14th 2014
Venue: Somerset Cottage in Bethlehem
Quiz Start Time: 7pm
Cost: $20 - This covers the quiz, coffee and dessert. However, the Somerset Cottage restaurant will be open should anyone wish to wine or dine.
Bring: Yourself, your friends, your partners, in fact anyone who wants to have fun and discover what they know about all things French.
Format: Tables of 4-6 people (not necessarily pre-arranged). Simple questions in French to read and answer(English version also available).
NO LAPTOPS OR OTHER DIGITAL DEVICES PLEASE. No dictionaries required.

2. Cafe Versailles: Bastille Day Menu 2014
Will be held at restaurant Cafe Versailles, 107 Grey Street
6.45pm. Monday the 14th July 14
Bastille breads and French finger food from the different areas of France

Sundried tomatoes, bacon, chives and gruyere souffle, eggplant and smoked
tomato coulis.
Souffle de tomates semi sechees au gruyere et ciboulette

Smoked salmon and provencale ratatouille with Sauvignon Blanc, garlic,
courgettes and olives
Ratatouille de saumon a la nicoise

Beef eye filet with a bearnaise sauce (served medium rare or medium).
Filet mignon de boeuf bearnaise

Chicken breast stuffed with Brie and apple. Dijon mustard and apple cider
sauce.
Poulet a la normande

Roasted potatoes and vegetables on the table.

3. Petit Déjeuner au Café
Le Chat Noir in Chadwick Road, Greerton and the Gourmet Trader in the Gate Pa Shopping Centre have nothing special organized but offer a French way to start the day. You can breakfast on “pain perdu”, crêpes, pains au chocolat & croissants in Greerton from 7.30am and the melt in your mouth "made in France" croissants aux amandes, pains au chocolat et croissants await from 9am in Gate Pa.
