Soirée Poterie & Tchin Tchin
French Wine & Clay Evening
These really are fun evenings with a difference. You can make something useful and personalized – bowls, cups, plates etc – or let your hands take you where your creativity wishes and make your own objet d’art / conversation piece.
PLUS « on peut parler en français » ! The tutor is Françoise Padellec and also a French Canadian potter. Come and meet and learn from them.
During the 2 hours you can expect to make something and underglaze it so that it will have colour in the finished item. Your piece is bisqued, then glaze fired using a clear glaze which highlights the colours applied. Stoneware clay and food safe glazes are used so the items can be used to drink or eat from as well as holding food or water.
When: Friday May 28th 2021 from 5.30pm to 8pm
Where: Ceramic Pop-Up Studio, Goddard Centre, 21 Devonport Road, Tauranga
Cost: $35 (includes tutor, clay & paint, glaze & firing, and wine)
Contact Shelley to register. shelley@lovefrench.nz or Ph 07 544 9557.
These evening pottery workshops are run at the Goddard Centre from Tuesday -Saturday but Friday 28th is a special EN FRANCAIS session.
Report from the March Wine & Pottery Session
French potter, Françoise Padellec from Hamilton, was our tutor and provided clear instructions in French on the basics of creating from clay. It was great fun and even the least experienced among us finished the evening with an original painted objet d’art that we were able to recuperate later after glazing and firing had been completed.
