Shopping in Paris
According to Yahoo, Europe and shopping go hand-in-hand. Even the most reserved of us can rarely resist the quality and craftsmanship of fashionable European brands. They’ve selected some of the best Paris shopping areas where you can find high fashion, high street brands, and alternative fashion and crafts.
High End – Louvre-Tuileries, Faubourg Saint-Honore, Avenue Montaigne.
For those that live to shop, satisfy your inner-diva at the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore and Avenue Montaigne; two of the best areas in Paris to discover some seriously chic Haute-Couture. The Saint-Honore fashion district is home to classic designers such as Versace, Yves Saint Laurent and Hermes. On Avenue Montaigne you’ll find legendary designers Chanel and Christian Dior. This is the place to forget about that bank balance, whip out that Visa Credit card and splurge!
High Street – Boulevard Haussmann, Les Halles and Rue de Rivoli
Boulevard Haussmann is the place to go for trendy French high street fashion and merchandise. Two hugely popular department stores, Printemps and Galeries Lafayette sit side-by-side along this street, offering shoppers endless fashion choices.
Alternative –Saint-Ouen Flea Market
Explore one of Paris’s flea markets for the chance to discover bargain treasures. The Saint-Ouen Flea market, known affectionately as ‘Les Puces’ (The Fleas) is the largest antique market in the world, covering around seven hectares, and receiving around 150,000 visitors each weekend.
