Interestingly, while staying in the Languedoc we visited a little village called Caux where in a delightful twist I found a winery owned by the family of St Exupery. and they told me of an exhibition of his life now featuring at their family chateau - "Chateau Pech-Celeyran" - near Narbonne. As it happened, we were heading in that direction a week or so later so we made it a priority to view the exihibition.
It felt like such a wonderfully serendipitous thing to happen - especially as it was quite by chance we rode through Caux on our bikes, while on our way to somewhere else.
I have long been interested in St Exupery's life, and love Le Petit Prince which I had taken along on holiday with me for some obscure reason ! I am now very keen to read some of his other books - 'Du vent, du sable et des etoiles' for one. He appears to have been more skilled as an Ecrivain than as a Pilote !
